The Journey of a Dedicated Painter

My name is Linda Testone, a passionate painter and the founder of Testone Art Studio. From a young age, I felt a magnetic pull toward the world of art. My childhood days were filled with doodling, crafts, and drawing inspiration from the colorful Sunday comic strips. This early exposure laid the foundation for my creative journey, which was destined to unfold in remarkable ways. 

In 1979, I embarked on a transformative path when I enrolled in an art class offered by the Adult Education program. Little did I know that this decision would mark a pivotal moment in my life, as I fell head over heels in love with art from the first brush stroke. This newfound passion became the driving force behind my artistic pursuits and creative explorations. 

Starting with a specialization in portraits from photos, my artistic horizons expanded to encompass florals, landscapes, seascapes, and still life rendered in various mediums such as oil, acrylic, and watercolor. My ability to capture the essence of nature and life’s vibrant scenes became a hallmark of my evolving artistic style. 

Drawn by my profound love for the sea, I found solace and inspiration on the shores of Milford, Connecticut, where I not only reside but also established the esteemed Testone Art Studio in 1989. My surroundings’ coastal beauty and tranquility have continued to shape and influence her artistic vision. 

What began as a personal project of painting my mailbox blossomed into a cascade of requests from loved ones seeking my artistic touch for their mailboxes. This organic growth sparked a creative journey of expanding my painting talents to encompass various mediums and objects, including barrel staves, birdhouses, buoys, ornaments, and slates.
